We spent three comfortable nights at the Hotel Nebo, also known as Missionshotellet Nebo in Danish. This 84-room Central Station pick is clean, simple, and convenient, and getting here by train and foot is a breeze. Although the Central Station area can get a touch dodgy at night, this hotel isn't a speck seedy. As a matter of fact, the Missionshotellet Nebo is owned by a church.
The Nebo offers three classes of rooms: Economy, Standard, and Superior. Economy rooms share showers and toilets in the hall, while Standard and Superior rooms are en suite. The Superior rooms are the most spacious with wood floors and less Spartan décor (read: floral bedspreads and curtains).
Economy rooms have comfortable beds, plain curtains, clean carpets, and fluffy white duvets. Although there isn't much in the way of ambiance except for maybe a lone Miró print, the rooms are airy and pleasant. We only wish the bathroom floor didn't double as the shower floor. (Wet socks in the morning are a personal pet peeve).
The receptionists at the front desk are very helpful; they can assist with renting a bicycle, EuroCheapo's
recommended way to see the city.
The single computer Internet station in the lobby usually requires waiting in line, but hey, it's free! The included breakfast is a typical Scandinavian-style buffet, with cold cuts, cheese, toast, muesli, yogurt, and cereal. The breakfast room has smoking and non-smoking sides, though the smoke seems not to recognize this invisible boundary.
