Downside
Fares are not always low. Bad customer service in the event that things go wrong with the flight or schedule.
About
Danish Sterling is a good all-purpose interregional airline. It's only debatably a low-cost airline, though it certainly offers some good deals here and there. With a Copenhagen base, Sterling covers city and beach destinations both. There are few major cities missed by its almost 40-strong destination route map. Since 2005, Sterling has been owned by an Icelandic company that also owns Iceland Express.
Baggage
* Carry-on: You may bring one piece of hand luggage weighing no more than 10 kg. Children under 2-years may not bring hand luggage. Tough break!
* Checked: On Sterling, you pay for all checked luggage. Pre-pay on-line at the rate of €3 for one bag that’s up to 20 kg; then €6 per bag (if 2 bags) up to 40 kg. More restrictions apply, so check their web site for details. Keep in mind too, that if you wait until you get to the airport, checked luggage costs twice as much.
Seating
You may select seats in advance on-line for a fee of €8 for a standard seat, €24 for a seat with extra legroom. Unless you're a professional basketball player, we suggest you sign on for standard.
Tip
Sterling allows you to order food in advance. For a fee, you can even get champagne and cake for your journey.
