Have a thing for India? Well, the YMCA Indian Student Hostel London offers elegant Mahatma Gandhi statuettes and serves up succulent curry.
First off, this YMCA is so much better looking in reality than on its Web site: the entire complex is spotless and lively, from the television lounge to the dining hall. You'd never guess from the looks of those photos!
The Indian YMCA has dorms, as well as private rooms. The en suite double rooms we saw were fantastic, with blue rugs, thick burgundy bedspreads, televisions, tea accoutrements, telephones, and touch lamps. Plus, the bathroom couldn't be cleaner, though the sinks are small.
There's also a reading room, snooker table, and library onsite. An immense dining hall near the reception serves breakfast and dinner -- both are included in the price of the room.
